Welcome to PhenixOps!

Introduction

Consider this website as both a showcase of my skillset and a source of information. I am a experienced Linux engineer with a solid background on operating applications and websites on the Internet. I work with everything between Arduino and a Supercomputer.

Currently i am building and expanding my infrastructure to setup my own shop.

If you run a small business and need some help on your website or Internet presence we can work something out. Just send an e-mail to tech@phenixops.net

Fun Projects

Besides my infrastructure i am working on some projects on Raspberry Pi and Arduino Linux RTL-SDR projects with a DVB stick, follow that here:

My flightradar page can be found here, it is operating from a Raspberry Pi in my backyard http://radar.phenixzine.net:8080/

Insecure link yes, working on that as well but this is too much fun not to share ;-)

My background

I have a solid experience in Linux Administration and hosting Websites, basically my knowledge is everywhere between the wires and the frontend. I can work on small and large scale environments, in the cloud or on premise.

When Websites are created, either from scratch or build with software like Wordpress, on the background you need a database providing you with business logic. All being backed up and kept updated. A weekly task often neglected but typically something i can take responsibility for.

Getting good scores and green lights in browser windows also provides good security and ensuring customers are reached from your communication, something where a free website and domain often is limited.

Check my website's status, i am able to show you the results of my work: https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=phenixops.net

Besides the technical part i am also strong on documentation and the organization of information. This includes concerns release management and project management. Making sure customer needs are met in time and according to specifications.

I like things to run save and secure while remaining available and being monitored. I have a strong operational focus combined with a curiosity for open source and the Internet in general.

Most of my experience is centered around the Linux/Apache/Mysql/PHP stack but also running JAVA applications. This can be situated on a Cloud or Virtual environment, i do all flavors. I use Open Source tools to create my platforms and share my experiences here. This also makes a lot possible on a small budget for your business or project.

In this time and age privacy and security is becoming more important, we all want our data to be safe. I am able to provide advise on how to create that with the use of tools and the right mindset.

Free Tips and Tricks

I like to structure information and provide tips and tricks on system administration, basically i share a part of my documentation here:

Most of the topics are based on Debian Linux and bash scripting.
